Fallugia paradoxa (Apache Plume) is a shrub to 2 m high. The flowers are white with five petals, numerous stamen, and many pistils. The clusters of achenes are conspicuous and attractive with each achene bearing a persistent, plume-like style 2-5 cm long. It is common throughout the Trans-Pecos in dry, sunny, gravelly locations such as arroyos or rocky slopes. Blooms may occur from May through December.
Fallugia is a monotypic genus in the Rosaceae (Rose) family.
