Leucaena retusa (Littleleaf Leadtree or Goldenball Leadtree) is a shrub or small tree in the Fabaceae (Legume) family which grows in rocky canyons and arroyos at elevations of 1200-5500 ft. The golden flowers (April through October) form dense globose heads 1-2 cm in diameter. The leaves are pinnately twice-compound and the fruit are long, flat, narrow pods.
